Other Mt.Vernon Organizations
Many organizations are playing a strategic role in the development and promotion of Mount Vernon. The MVBA collaborates with these organizations, as we collectively strive to make Mount Vernon a better place to live, work and visit.

Charles Street Development Corporation (CSDC)
The mission of the Charles Street Development Corporation is to concentrate on the enhancement of retail opportunities and activity along Charles Street, from Pratt Street to North Avenue. This is achieved by encouraging the viable and complementary synergies necessary to re-establish this historic corridor as the place to shop, work, dine and live in a safe, hospitable, and pleasing environment, thereby enhancing the quality of life of the neighborhoods around it.

Downtown Partnership of Baltimore
Downtown Partnership is a nonprofit corporation working with the public and private sectors to make Downtown Baltimore a great place for businesses, employees, residents, and visitors. Downtown Partnership provides clean and safe services to a portion of Mount Vernon. These services are funded by a tax on commercial properties. The area they serve is generally west of Park Avenue and south of Centre Street.

Friends of Mount Vernon Place
The Friends of Mount Vernon Place is a volunteer, membership organization dedicated to the conservation and revitalization of the Mount Vernon Place parks. The organization's purpose is to enable residents and visitors to enjoy the wealth of natural beauty, historical significance, and cultural resources on Mount Vernon Place. The Friends of Mount Vernon Place is the only membership group that focuses specifically on the parks.

The Midtown Community Benefits District (MCBD)
The Midtown Community Benefits District is a citizen-run neighborhood advocacy and improvement group authorized by law in 1996 to provide security and sanitation services along with promotional activities for a 150-block area. Midtown is made up of four communities: Bolton Hill, Charles North, Madison Park and Mount Vernon. Its efforts are funded by a taxpayer-approved property tax surcharge. Midtown was created by voter referendum in an effort to make our neighborhoods stronger and better places to live and work.

The Midtown Development Corporation
The Midtown Development Corporation is a non-profit subsidiary of the Midtown Community Benefits District. Their purpose is to promote the continued revitalization and restoration of Midtown by assisting homebuyers and developers with residential renovation projects.

Mount Vernon Cultural District (MVCD)
The Mount Vernon Cultural District was formed in 1996 to promote Mount Vernon's cultural institutions. The MVCD is a collaborative partnership among the cultural institutions, local charitable foundations, and government agencies.

The Historic Charles Street Association (HCSA)
For more than 200 years, Charles Street has been changing and growing. Because they love Charles Street, residents, business owners, property owners and merchants of the area have banded together in the Historic Charles Street Association to serve the street. The HCSA encourages development along progressive lines while maintaining the character that makes Charles Street unique.
